“What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.” ~Buddha
Perhaps you have heard this at least once in your lifetime, but what does it mean? What do thoughts have to do with who we are and what we do? What do they have to do with our circumstances and the people showing up in our lives?
After a somewhat embarrassingly long time, I came to realize that what you focus on becomes your reality.
Every day, we have thousands of thoughts and most of them are the same as the day before. Most of them are negative. We often choose to spend our life worrying about our present circumstances and about what is missing in our lives.
We also choose to spend our time thinking about past situations and to live with regrets, with “what if’s”. If you have no control over a situation, or a situation that might never happen, why worry? If you have no control over it, leave it. If you have control over them there is no reason for you to worry. Everything will be taken care of at the right time.
What You Think, You Become
“Worry clogs the brain and paralyzes the thought. A troubled brain can not think clearly, vigorously, locally.” ~Orison Swett Marden
Most of us are not trained in this field. We have little knowledge about the power of our mind, about the power of our thoughts. Most of us have no control over our thoughts and we let our mind take us wherever it feels like taking us.
“You see, with our thoughts we make our world, all that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.” ~Buddha
If everything is energy, and you are sending your vibrations out into the universe, you get back what you send out there (Law of Attraction). If you are only thinking about that which you want to have in your life and what you need, you will send your energy into the universe and you will start attracting all the wonderful things, situations, and people that will help you get there. Like attracts like. What you think about expands.
“Whether you think you can or can’t, you’re right.” ~Henry Ford
If you want to change your experiences, your life, you must change the frequency of your thoughts. You must pay closer attention to your thoughts because they are the ones that shape your life. Decide to shift your attention from the things that are making you unhappy to those that can bring you peace of mind and happiness. Decide to finally live the life you wanted by changing your thoughts and your limiting beliefs.
Maybe it is time for you to take a pen and paper and start asking yourself what is it that you want for yourself. What is it that you need in your life? What are the things that you believe will make you happy?
Ask the question and let the inner voice give you an answer. Have faith. Have patience. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Why not try something new?
